Notes:
* Edison's birth time was taken as 11.30 p.m. local time on 11 Feb. 1847 in Milan, Ohio, which is 5.00 GMT on 12 Feb. 1847. This time is given by a) De Lascaut, who is normally regarded as reliable; b) the Circle Book of Charts; c) Cirbels; d) T.Ring, Astrologische Menschenhunde Vol.3,p.539; e) the UK journal 'The Astrologer' in its Feb. 1890 issue, which gave Edison's birth data as 11.33 p.m. local time on the above date. Its authority cited was a 'professor Chaney' who had obtained it from Edison's father. The claim that Edison was born during a blizzard at 3 o'clock in the morning (in 'Thomas A.Edison' by M.C. Nerney) sounded like the sort of myth likely to develop around the birth of an electrical genius (Fowler's Compendium gave 1.30 pm, a printing error for 11.30 pm).
* Galileo's birth date is often taken as 15th February 1564 Old Style; however, it should be a day later, 16th February 3pm GMT 1564 Old Style (N.K., Interface, Astronomical Essays for Astrologers, 1997, 'Galileo's Birthdate') as shown by two horoscopes recognised as drawn up by him for his birth at the National Library, Florence (the two differ by merely half an hour).
* Tesla was born just after midnight on the 9th July 1856 in Croatia. Much of the Balkans was still using the Julian Calendar, but sources (e.g., the Campion Book of World horoscopes) generally concur that for Tesla's birthdate the modern Gregorian calendar was used, and his birthday celebrations in New York in his later years confirm this.
* Eureka scientist Ben Franklin is not included, because his birthdata cited as 17 Jan 1706 NS Boston, 4h44m LMT, is cited by Rhodden as 'dirty data' ie having no known source; likewise Niels Bohr, who has a slight claim to being a eureka-type, 7 Oct 1885 Copenhagen 0h 50m LMT, has the same Rhodden grade (both however have their data given on Niehenke's website, see Ch.5 ref 25).
